The Walnut Muskoka chair
Deep, dark brown, the colour of oiled walnut. The richest of the wood tones.

Walnut is what people choose when they want the look of a dark hardwood chair — the kind you would never actually leave outside — and want to leave it outside. It is a deep chocolate brown with a little red in it, and next to Cedar it looks like the grown-up in the room.
It is the best colour against a light house: white clapboard, pale render, grey stone. It sits very well with black window frames. On a cedar deck it reads as a deliberate two-tone; on a dark deck it is quieter than Black while still holding the space.
Being dark, it warms in full sun the way Black does, though a step less. In evening light it is the colour that makes the fire pit photograph look expensive.
Who picks Walnut
Traditional homes. Anyone who loves dark furniture indoors and wants the same feeling outside. People who found Cedar too orange and Black too modern.

Questions
Does Walnut look like real wood?
From a few feet, yes: the shade is oiled walnut and the boards are milled like lumber. Up close it is clearly a solid, uniform material with no grain — which is the point.
