What "made in Ontario" actually means
Built to order, an hour or two from most of the people who buy it.
Every chair we sell in Canada is milled, drilled and packed at our own factory in Ontario. Not assembled from imported parts; made, from board to bolt. That has three consequences that matter to you.
It is built for your order
We do not hold a warehouse of chairs in fourteen colours. We hold boards, and we build your chair in your colour when you order it. That is why delivery takes about 3–6 weeks rather than three days, and why the colour you get is the colour you chose, checked against a sample before it is packed.
It has not crossed an ocean
A container chair is packed in Asia, sits in a port, crosses the Pacific, sits in another port, and is trucked to a warehouse before it is trucked to you. Ours is trucked once, from Ontario. Less handling, less damage, less diesel, and a delivery we can actually give you a date for.
Someone here is responsible for it
If a board arrives marked, a bolt is missing, or something is not right in year eight, the people who made it are the people you email, and they can send the part the same week. That is what the twenty-year warranty is backed by: a factory, not a customer-service contractor.
What it costs
Making it here costs more than a container would. We have priced the chair at $299 CAD anyway — below the imported brands — because one chair, made well, in volume, is cheaper to make than a catalogue. Free delivery is included in that number.
