The patio, the deck and the dock
Three searches, one chair, three heights of ground.

The patio
Stone or concrete, at ground level, usually beside the house, usually in sun. The chair sits dead level, the colour matters against the stone (Taupe and Harbour Grey belong to it), and heat matters: this is where a pale colour earns its keep. Four round a fire pit is the classic patio layout. More on the patio.
The deck
Raised, boarded, attached to the house. The chair's weight matters here — a light chair scrapes and walks on a deck — and the colour against the boards is the decision: Dark Grey vanishes into composite, Cedar warms it, Black anchors it. Two side by side with a table between is the deck set. More on the deck.
The dock
Wood or aluminium over water, exposed to everything: sun from above, sun from below off the lake, spray, wind, and in the north, the whole thing hauled out in October. The chair has to survive all of it and weigh enough not to end up in the lake. This is where HDPE stops being a nice-to-have. Blue and White, Red and White, or Harbour Grey that looks like it grew there. More on the dock.
Why one chair
The tilt is built into the frame, so it sits properly on all three without adjustment. The material does not care about the spray, the sun or the winter. The only thing that changes from patio to deck to dock is the colour you choose.
