The Purple Adirondack chair

A rich violet, for anyone who would rather not blend in.

The Classic Adirondack Chair, ottoman and side table in Purple

Purple exists because somebody asked for it, and then a surprising number of other people did. It is a rich, slightly blue violet — closer to a plum than to lavender — and it is the color that gets photographed most per chair sold.

It is an accent color, not a set color: one Purple among Light Greys, one on a white porch, one at the end of a dock. Against Sand it looks like a sunset. It stays reasonably cool in the sun for a dark shade.

Like every color we make, the pigment runs through the board, so the plum on the arms stays the plum on the back.

Who picks Purple

People who have never once wanted a beige chair. Children's ends of docks. Gardens with a sense of humour.

Questions

Is Purple a pastel?

No. It is a deep violet with body to it — a plum, not a lavender.
