Adirondack chairs for the deck

The color against the boards is the decision. The weight is why it stays put.

Adirondack chairs for the deck

A deck is raised, exposed and attached to the house, so the chair is seen from inside as much as from the yard. Two things matter: that it does not walk or scrape when someone shifts (38 lb of solid board does not), and that its color is right against the boards.

Grey composite

Dark Grey matches it and disappears; Cedar warms it; Black anchors it.

Cedar or pine

Cedar matches; Walnut and Black contrast; Green if there are trees around.

Layout

An 8×10 deck takes two and a table. A 10×12 takes two with ottomans, or four. The numbers.
